WILDERNESS FIRST AID COURSE

Wilderness First Aid is a specific discipline in First Aid. Wilderness First Aid presents the rescuer with the unique situation of prolonged care of a patient in a remote area, before definitive medical care can be provided.

In such situations the emergency medical services may be difficult to obtain or delayed and there are a number of different skills required compared to the urban setting.

Throughout the course you will be presented with a number of realistic situations involving casualty make up. This will challenge and enhance the skills and knowledge you have acquired during the course.

Our ethos of training is to create a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, at the same time getting the message across of the seriousness of the subject and the skills you need to save a life.

Your course will be taught by experienced Emergency Service personnel with a keen and active interest in the great outdoors.

Our 16 hour (2 Day) course has been specifically designed for mountain bikers and meets the requirements set out by the SMBLA (Scottish Mountain Bike Leader Award).

This course is Certificated and valid for three years PLUS it fulfills the needs of all the outdoor national governing bodies such as SMBLA, ML, SPA, RYA, BCU, BASI, ASSI, and BOF.
